Next Generation of GOTB

The Next Generation of GOTB is a place for military history to be seen through a younger set of eyes. Written from the perspective of the next generation of our Ghosts of the Battlefield family, these posts explore aircraft, weapons, movies, artifacts, historic events, and the stories of the men and women who served.

This is not meant to be another history textbook. It is about discovering history, asking questions, forming opinions, and sharing what stands out to someone growing up generations after these events took place.

Sometimes that means looking at an iconic aircraft and asking what made it special. Sometimes it means watching a war film and considering what it teaches us about the people who lived through those events. Other times, it may simply be an artifact in the museum that sparks curiosity and leads to a much bigger story.

That curiosity matters.

One of the most important parts of the Ghosts of the Battlefield mission is making sure these stories do not disappear when those who experienced them are no longer here to tell them. Preservation is more than protecting artifacts behind glass. It means inspiring another generation to care enough to learn the names, understand the sacrifices, ask the questions, and eventually carry those stories forward themselves.

The Next Generation of GOTB is history through fresh eyes—and proof that remembrance does not have to end with the generation that lived it.
