“Khe Sanh Remembered: Preserving the Legacy of Lt. Cmndr. Ray W. ‘The Leaping Deacon’ Stubbe”

This event commemorates the Battle of Khe Sanh and marks the unveiling of newly preserved memorabilia belonging to Lt. Commander Ray W. Stubbe, known to those who served beside him as “The Leaping Deacon.” On display are the battlefield cross from the iconic photograph, Lt. Stubbe’s uniforms, helmet, and personal effects—artifacts carried through one of the Vietnam War’s most brutal campaigns. Together, these items bear silent witness to faith under fire, the cost of service, and the importance of preserving history before it is lost.
